Use annotations to let AI modify images
Kamay supports precise image modification through annotations.
Add Annotations
Step 1: Open Image
In project space, click the image you want to modify.
Step 2: Enter Edit Mode
Click the "Edit Image" button to enter edit mode.
Step 3: Select Area
Click or drag on the image to select the area you want to modify.
Step 4: Add Annotation
After selecting an area, an input box will pop up:
- Enter modification requirements
- You can add more reference images
- Click confirm, annotation will be displayed as a number marker
Step 5: Submit Modification
You can add multiple annotations, then click "Confirm Modification".
Annotation Types
Modify Content
Describe your desired modification:
| Annotation Example | Description |

| "Change to white background" | Modify background |
| "Make the product more prominent" | Adjust subject |
| "Add industrial style elements" | Add elements |
| "Adjust brightness" | Adjust effects |
Reference Images
You can:
- Select reference images from project assets
- Upload local images as reference
- Reference images in annotations
Example:
"Change the background to the background of [reference.png]"
Multiple Annotation Modifications
Add Multiple Annotations
You can add multiple annotations on one image:
- Select first area, add annotation 1
- Select second area, add annotation 2
- Continue adding more annotations
- Click "Confirm Modification" to submit
Modify Single Annotation
- Click annotation number
- Modify annotation content
- Confirm modification
Delete Annotation
- Click annotation number
- Click "Delete"
- Annotation will be removed
AI Processing Flow
After Submission
After clicking "Confirm Modification":
- Annotations will be sent to the conversation panel on the right
- AI will generate modified images based on annotations
- New images will be displayed in the conversation
View Results
- New images will be displayed in the artifact panel
- Click to zoom in
- If not satisfied, continue adding annotations to modify
Batch Modification
Add Same Annotation to Multiple Images
Steps:
- Select multiple images
- Add to conversation
- Enter modification requirements:
"Change the background of all these images to white"
AI Will:
- Generate modified versions for each image
- Keep other features of the images unchanged
Use Cases
Case 1: Change Background
Annotation:
- Select background area
- Enter: "Change to white background"
Case 2: Highlight Subject
Annotation:
- Select product area
- Enter: "Make the product more prominent"
Case 3: Add Elements
Annotation:
- Select area to add elements
- Enter: "Add industrial style decorative elements"
- Or upload reference image
Case 4: Adjust Effects
Annotation:
- Select area to adjust
- Enter: "Increase brightness" or "Adjust color tone"
Save Modified Images
Auto Save
Newly generated images will automatically display in the conversation artifact panel.
Save to Project
- Click "Save to Project" in the artifact panel
- Select project and folder
- Confirm save
Replace Original
Currently doesn't support directly replacing the original image. You can:
- Save new image to project
- Manually delete old image
- Rename new image

Frequently Asked Questions
What if the annotation is not satisfactory?
You can:
- Click annotation number to modify content
- Delete annotation and add again
- Let AI regenerate after submission
What if AI doesn't understand my annotation?
Try:
- Be more specific about your desired modification
- Upload reference images
- Provide more context information
Can I undo modifications?
Generated images cannot be undone, but you can:
- Continue adding annotations to adjust
- Let AI regenerate
Is there a limit on the number of annotations?
It's recommended not to exceed 10 annotations at a time, as too many may affect AI's understanding.
